David R. Fitzjohn
David Fitzjohn joined the Bloomin' Brands Board in February of 2014 and is currently a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Mr. Fitzjohn has over 30 years of leadership experience at well-known global restaurant brands and extensive knowledge developing, expanding and operating restaurant concepts internationally. Currently, he is Chair of the Board of Pizza Hut UK, a position he has held since 2012. He has served as Managing Director at Sahana Estates Ltd., a privately-held real estate development, investment and restaurant industry consulting business, since 2006.
Previously, he was Chief Business Development Officer and later the Managing Director of Yum! Brands Europe, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., that operates quick service restaurants. As Chief Business Development Officer, he was responsible for opening and overseeing 1,000+ restaurants per year across 100+ countries. In addition, he has held numerous executive management positions at Burger King Worldwide, Inc., as well as at retailers Grand Metropolitan and Laura Ashley. As President of Real Estate & Development at Burger King Corporation, he gained significant knowledge of acquiring and operating real estate assets and tripled restaurant openings worldwide.
From 2006 to 2014, Mr. Fitzjohn served as a nonexecutive director of Rosinter Restaurants Holdings, a Russian public company that operates casual dining restaurants.
Mr. Fitzjohn earned a Bachelor of Science in Estate Management and a Master of Philosophy in Environmental Planning, both from the University of Reading.
