Lawrence Jackson joined the Bloomin' Brands Board in July of 2020 and currently serves as Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.  

Mr. Jackson has spent 40 years leading consumer product companies and retailers. Currently, he serves as Senior Advisor to New Mountain Capital, LLC, a manager of private equity funds based in New York, a position he has held since 2008. He has also served on the boards of several of New Mountain’s portfolio companies. 

From 2004 to 2008, he served in various roles at Walmart Inc., including President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Procurement, where he directed purchasing offices in 28 countries and implemented programs to improve the company's factory sourcing. He was previously Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, leading human resources planning for the company's 1.5 million associates worldwide, and served as the first African American member of Walmart Inc.’s Executive Committee. Prior to Walmart Inc., Mr. Jackson held roles as President and Chief Operating Officer of Dollar General Corporation and Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Operations, for Safeway, Inc., where he led the manufacturing, distribution and private-label operations for the $30bn grocer. He also served in various executive roles for PepsiCo, Inc. over his 16 years with that company.  

Mr. Jackson currently serves on the board of Assurant, Inc. as Chair of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Nominating & Governance Committee and John Bean Technologies Corporation as a member of both the Nominating & Governance Committee and the Compensation Committee. Mr. Jackson previously served as a member of the board of directors of Snyder's-Lance, Inc.    

Mr. Jackson earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
